WALTER Case Study Areas

Phase 1 of the Fire-Climate-Society Strategic Model (FCS-1) will produce fire risk maps for four specific areas:

• Catalina-Rincon Mountains, adjacent to Tucson, Arizona
• Huachuca Mountains, located in the vicinity of Fort Huachuca Army Base and the nearby city of Sierra Vista, Arizona
• Chiricahua Mountains, located in a still largely rural area of southeastern Arizona
• Jemez Mountains, adjacent to Los Alamos National Laboratory and the community of Los Alamos, New Mexico
